Fans Welcome All-Stars with Pep Rally

By Ellis Eskew

Lots of excitement in Pike Road Tuesday evening as the college football all-stars arrived for a pep rally at the Pike Road Town Hall.

A-U-M and LAMP cheerleaders welcomed the players along with the Trinity Presbyterian School band.

One hundred players from across the country are in the area, ready for the College Football All-Star Classic game on Saturday.

The players are from Alabama, Auburn, Alabama State, and Troy.

Mayor Gordon Stone says the classic is welcome return to the River Region.

"A big pep rally to try to make sure the players understand the hospitality of the River Region. We're excited that Pike Road has the opportunity to do this because we got a lot of people out here that are big football fans and want to welcome the players to our area," said Pike Road Mayor Gordon Stone.

The College Football All-Star Classic will be this Saturday at 2 at Cramton Bowl.

It will also be broadcast on the CBS sports network.
