From the West Alabama Newsroom--  A four year old girl is injured in a pitbull attack in Selma.

Police Chief William Riley says  the dog attacked the child in her own yard -- and even pursued her into the house. He says the child was rushed to the hospital when the dog finally let go.

Kimberly Thomas is the victim's aunt. "The dog, he is big," said Thomas. "I'm scared of the dog! They call him Zeus. He's vicious to me."

The girl had to get twelve staples in the back of her head.

The dog has been quarantined at the Selma Animal Shelter.

Riley says the incident remains under investigation.
