This week, CBS 8 news visits Bright Beginnings School in Greenville to recognize a special teacher for an outstanding job in the classroom.

This week's Golden Apple Teacher is Pre-K teacher Lisa Peavey.

Peavey is nominated by a parent who says that she lights up the classroom with positive energy while teaching her students the basics.

Whether it's a child speaking for the first time or a child learning how to read, Mrs. Peavey is known for helping her students open up for the first time in their lives.

It's a successful feat that her colleagues, her parents and her students are proud of.
