Police Chase Ends In Deadly Wreck on Highway 31 in Pine Level

A late night police chase turned deadly Saturday on Highway 31 in Pine Level.
 
Two cars collided head on around 11:30 p.m., after the Pine Level Fire Department says an officer with the Autauga County Sheriff's office was chasing a driver, identified by State Troopers as 55-year old Randy Gill Thomas. The accident happened about one mile south of Liberty Baptist Church and the Autauga Co. Sheriff's Office confirms it shut down traffic on Highway 31
for about a hour.
 
Thomas died when his 1998 Nissan Frontier hit a 1999 Inifiniti G-30, driven by 20-year old Reece David Quinnell and his passenger 24-year old Stephen Quinnell, both of Prattville.
 
The Autauga County Sheriff's Office says the officer was not hurt in the accident.
 
EMS Sergent Regina Caffey with the Pine Level Fire Department said all involved had to rescued by the jaws of life and transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery. Caffey also said the Quinnell's suffered life threatening injuries from the crash. 
 
No other information is available at this time as state troopers continue to investigate the crash.
