Hurricane Sandy Threatens East Coast, Alabama Power Crews Prepare in Washinton D.C.

As Hurricane Sandy makes landfall, and prepares to hit the East Coast power crews from Alabama will be helping in the northeast.

Saturday morning 65 Alabama Power employees from central Alabama arrived in areas just outside of Washington D.C. 

Mike Jordan, spokesman for Alabama Power tells CBS 8 news, crews will assist to restore possible power outages caused by Hurricane Sandy. 

A total of more than 350 Alabama Power personnel will be traveling to the D.C. area.
