From the West Alabama Newsroom--  Selma City Schools will soon learn the findings of a state investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct within the school system.

Superintendent Gerald Shirley says he's been informed that the school district could get the report in about two weeks.

The state began investigating after getting numerous reports -- alleging inappropriate sexual activity involving school employees and students.

Shirley says the school system will address any issues revealed by the investigation.

"If there's anything that needs to be corrected, we want to correct it," said Shirley. "We want to do what's supposed to be the proper thing, but I don't see it as a cloud, I don't see it as impeding our progress," he said.

The new school officially kicks off this coming Monday when students head back to school.
