OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) - A Lee County judge has delayed the robbery trial of a former Auburn University player after his defense lawyers said they would need more time to prepare for it.

The Opelika-Auburn News reports (http://bit.ly/IXWflb) that Lee County Circuit Court Judge Chris Hughes delayed the trial date for Dakota Mosley until Oct. 1.

Mosley's attorney, Davis Whittelsey, said he planned to request a mental evaluation and suppression of evidence.

Mosley and two former teammates are awaiting trial after prosecutors say they took park in an armed robbery of an Auburn mobile home in March 2011. The three face robbery, burglary and theft of property charges.
