It's just October, but it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Montgomery. The annual Junior League of Montgomery's Holiday Market opened Wednesday.  It's the 25th year for the market, but organizers say this year is bigger than ever, with 127 vendors selling everything from home décor and clothing to candy.

"I mean, obviously being sold out is fantastic and we actually have a waiting list, so that's absolutely wonderful, so the public and the shoppers coming out really helps to keep this market a success, so that we can help our community," said Allison Bonds, Holiday Market Chair.

On Wednesday, vendors like Merdedes Meier put the final touches on their booths. She says it's worth the 13-hour trip from Dallas because of the Junior League's mission to give back.

"We want, if our customer's paying at the door to see us, we want that money to go back into their community to enhance the quality of life," said Meier.

About half the vendors this year are new, like Brandi Powell, who says she chose this market for a reason.

"It's local enough where I feel like I'm still relatable to people. I'm not from montgomery, I live two hours away, but it's still my home state," said Powell.

There are familiar faces, too. Josef Haubrich is selling chocolates and candies from the eighth year, traveling all the way from New Orleans to be at the market.

"We can hand out our catalogs, which we do catalogs, and sales and internet sales-and really what we want to get the people to do is taste our product and see it, see what it looks like, so we can hand out gifts for Christmas, because we do a lot of gift-giving during Christmas,"said Haubrich.

The Holiday Market will be open from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. Thursday and Friday and from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Saturday. Tickets at the door are $10 each day. All the money Junior League raises will go back into local charities, including Habitat for Humanity.
