Low Voter Turnouts for Autauga and Montgomery Counties

Both Autauga and Montgomery Counties have had fairly low turn outs. Election officials say that's because this is a run-off election.

Our crew visited several precincts in those counties. Journey Church in Prattville has about 2,000 people registered at this precinct with less than 20 percent of voters had casted their ballots by 6 p.m. All day polling officials say they've had a steady crowd come in. They say it's likely because of it's most publicized race for Senate District 30 between Harris Garner and Clyde Chambliss.

In Montgomery County, we were at Frazer Methodist Church and polling officials say it's been much slower. About 6 percent of voters had casted their vote by 6 p.m.

Montgomery County Probate Judge, Steven Reed says there are 140,000 registered voters in the county. He's only expecting about 5 to 7 percent of the vote.

Polls closed at 7 p.m.
