MPD Make an Arrest in Multiple School Break-InsMontgomery Police have arrested Tarus Giles, 29, in connection with multiple school break-ins. Police say around 2 a.m. on Monday, January 28, they responded to Floyd Elementary School on the 600 block of Augusta Avenue. Police found a broken window and witnessed Giles running in front of the building. After questioning, detectives developed information to charge Giles with 10 counts of third-degree burglary in connection with the break-ins. The majority of the school burglaries involved the theft of petty cash. Police say the burglaries involved the following schools. Carver Elementary, November 19, 2012 P.A.C.E. Alternative School, November 22, 2012 Jefferson Davis High School, January 14, 2013 Southlawn Elementary, January 14, 2013 Peter Crump Elementary, January 14, 2013 Lanier High School, January 26, 2013 Forest Avenue Elementary, the weekend of January 28, 2013 Capitol Heights Junior High, the weekend of January 28, 2013 Robert E. Lee High School, the weekend of January 28, 2013 Floyd Elementary, January 28, 2013 Giles is being held under bonds totaling $142,500.
