From the West Alabama Newsroom--  Some big improvements are on the way to several roads in Dallas County thanks to the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program.

A-TRIP awarded Dallas County more than seven million dollars in grants to re-pave and make repairs on six major county roadways.

Probate Judge Kim Ballard says it's the biggest road project the county has seen in years.

"These are high traffic roads and some of them haven't been paved in many, many years, said Ballard. "It's going to make driving in Dallas County a whole lot easier in the future."

Ballard says nearly 30 miles of county roads have been identified for improvement.
