Man Charged with Murdering His Wife Extradited to Montgomery

A man charged in connection with the murder of his wife is back in Montgomery.

Marquis Cheatham has been extradited from North Carolina back to Montgomery.

Cheatham is charged in the death of his wife Ashley, who was found shot to death in front of a home on Lower Wetumpka Road on April 1st.

Marquis was stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he was serving as an active Marine.

He was in Montgomery on a three day pass when the shooting happened.

Dominique Atkinson, who police say was Cheatham's girlfriend, is also charged with murder in connection with the shooting.

She refused extradition and will have a hearing in North Carolina next month.
