$64 Million Verdict in Macon Co. Casino CaseA federal jury has reached a $64 million verdict for the plaintif in a civil trial against Victoryland owner Milton McGregor and Macon County Sheriff David Warren. 17 charities joined forces in the civil lawsuit that alleges McGregor didn't want any casino competition and was behind the decision by Macon County Sheriff David Warren to deny casino Lucky Palace a license to open. Attorneys for McGregor and the sheriff dispute the allegations and plan to appeal the verdict. Victoryland is currently closed because of a state crackdown on electronic gambling, but he is making plans to reopen. (Copyright 2012 The Associated Press contributed to this report.
