An 11-year-old child has died after a Montgomery crash that shut down both lanes of I-85 Southbound.

According to state troopers, the crash happened Sunday just after noon at the 14 mile marker, 3 miles south of Waugh. Troopers say 11-year-old Naycha Knight died when the car she was a passenger in collided with another vehicle.

The driver of that car and a 12-year-old passenger were also injured and taken to the hospital. A 2-year-old girl and an adult woman in the second vehicle were also injured.

No word yet on their conditions.

State troopers are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

Both southbound lanes on I-85 were closed for several hours following the crash.
