Some residents in East Montgomery are upset with plans to build an apartment complex in the Shoppes at EastChase.

More than 50 people showed up at the council meeting to protest the apartment development. They are against the proposed multi-family residences for several reasons, but cite increased traffic as the main one.

The council approved the ordinance 6-3 immediately after.

6 councilman voted for the apartments with 3 voting against.

The Shoppes at EastChase is almost 100 percent full with retail and residents say they wanted that area to go toward more stores and restaurants.
