The family of a Fort Deposit man who was shot and killed outside his ex-girlfriend's home says they are still grieving nearly a year and half later.

26 year-old Brandon Rudolph of Letohatchee is accused of killing Willie Earl Scott in May of last year. Authorities say Scott was pounding on the door of his ex-girlfriend's trailer on McCall Road.  Which led to a fight between Scott and Rudolph, who was her boyfriend at the time.

Jani Thigpen, Victim's Sister, says, "Today I'm hurting, and it's like the first time it happened," outside the doors of the courthouse.

Rudolph allegedly shot Scott twice outside of the home. The victims family says the trial is difficult for them to go through.

The victim's father, Willie Scott, says, "The man's sitting up there halfway smiling.  Just like he got a silver platter, eating out of it, in front of him.  Seems like he ain't worried about nothing."

The mother of Scott's only child, an 11 year old girl, says she is still devastated by what happened to her father, "They had a close relationship, he was always there for her, and she's just going through a tough time in the past year."

Rudolph testified he never tried to kill Scott and that if he had left when he was asked, he would never have shot him.

The case is scheduled to go to the jury Thursday morning.
