National Christian Speaker Visits Montgomery For Ambassador Conference
He's heard every morning at 9:30 a.m. on Faith Radio, but now church leaders and other residents will get to hear from nationally known motivational speaker Dr. Tony Evans in person.
Evans is one of two featured speakers at the Ambassadors Conference 2013 this weekend, the other is Worship Leader James Ward of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The conference is focused around bringing the Christian community together to learn "ow to love your neighbor."
"We've let the culture divide us, and God has limited what he's done because he doesn't have a unified people to work through," Evans said.
Hosted at Vaughn Forest Church, the Ambassadors Conference welcomes local church pastors, city leaders and people from all faiths, in hopes of strengthening our churches, families and communities.
"Loving each other, learning how people may be different than us, but we should love them even though they're different than us," Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations at Faith Radio, said.
Evans says his message this weekend is about unity across racial and social lines.
"If you can't get it right in your own house, why should anyone else adopt you? So we want to get God's people to do it right, so this world can see what it looks like done correctly," Evans said.
Dr. Evans has also been the team chaplain to the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavricks.
The conference is on Friday, January 25 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 26 8:30 a.m to 12:00 p.m. at Vaughn Forest Church.
Admission is free.
