An argument between two brothers turns deadly Saturday in Millbrook.

Around 10 p.m., Millbrook police officers responded to a disturbance involving gunshots in the 3800 block of Highway 14.

They found 54-year-old William Grady Pitts lying in the parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Marion Ed Pitts Junior of Deatsville, was taken into custody at the scene with a small caliber handgun nearby. He is charged with murdering his brother from Mobile and is in being held in

Elmore County jail.

Millbrook Police Chief P. K. Johnson said it's a shame that an argument between brothers escalated to this level of violence.

Investigators say alcohol most likely played a big role in this dispute.
