The Pike County Fair is officially open. The Troy Shrine Club is the main sponsor and they hope a new promoter will make it the biggest yet.

New rides include the Fireball, costing more than $1 million all the way from the Netherlands.
Also, last year they didn't have a ferris wheel, so organizers are excited to see the 85-foot one brought in.

Part of the proceeds go to the shriners children hospitals across the country. But, it also benefits the local economy.

Troy Shrine Club President Homer Homann said, "All of these people have to eat some place. Many of them stay in motels. I got no idea how much this brings to the community but it has to bring a few dollars in."

The fair will run through Saturday.  Adults are 6 dollars, kids are 4, and children under 5 years old are free.
