The race for Jay Love's House District 74 seat will be filled by Dimitri Polizos. He won the runoff Tuesday night with 57 percent of the vote to Charlotte Meadows' 42 percent.

Meadows says she is disappointed but will remain in public service.

She says she called Polizos to concede the race and congratulate him on the win.
She says she fought hard and stayed positive throughout the campaign even though things did turn negative towards her. She also told her supporters that this wasn't the end for her public service.
And she has some ideas of how she would like to stay involved with serving the community.

"Put kids first, which is the goal I've had for quite a few years and make sure people understand some of the issues involved in state government. I think I have some what of a gift of trying to explain things to people, so I think maybe I can use that for the good of the people," said Meadows.

Meadows says she plans to keep working in her husband's allergist office.
And she does not have any plans to run again for state office as of right now.
