Pratt Park "Unofficial" Winner in America's Favorite Park Competition

The past few weeks Pratt Park has been battling for the top spot, which is why the city of Prattville spent the day motivating people to vote to claim the win.

Prattville's Pratt Park is in the lead of a national contest where people vote for their favorite park. If they win, the city will use the money to add a splash pad to the pool.

With only hours left to cast a vote, the city of Prattville is giving one last push to make sure Pratt Park clinches the win.

Sunday afternoon, Residents came out for live music, free food and a friendly reminder to keep voting in Coca-Cola's America is Your Park Competition.

Pratt Park has been going head to head with Krull Park in New York, but as of Sunday afternoon, it is leading the polls with close to 30 million votes.

"I never truly expected it to explode like it has. I think it's been very good not only for our community and state, but across the country, because so many people are talking about it," says Mayor Bill Gillespie.

If Pratt Park comes out on top, it will get a$100,000 grant, which will go towards adding a splash pad to the pool.

"I'm so excited, because I've never see one before, and I'm just happy they're voting for this pool!" says resident Haley May.

You can keep voting until Sunday night at 11, and you can cast a vote every 20 minutes.

A spokeswoman with Coca-Cola says tomorrow an independent company will verify the vote count, but the date and time of when the winner will be announced, is yet to be determined.
