From the West Alabama Newsroom--  The movie 'Selma' is set to start shooting in about two weeks and people from all over the surrounding areas are in Selma trying to break into the movies.

Hundreds of people lined up outside the Performing Arts Center in downtown Selma Tuesday afternoon for the chance to be an extra in the movie.

Casting directors are looking for about 500 extras to be marchers, troopers, onlookers and national guardsmen in the movie.

Jill Coleman came to the casting call from Birmingham. "I'm giving it a shot and if its something that happens, let God be the glory for it," said Coleman.

Crews will film in Selma from June 23rd through 26th. They shoot in Montgomery -- June 27th.
