People across Alabama are reacting the death of Mal Moore over the weekend.
Sports fans say the death of the longtime athletic director shocked them, and they're reflecting on his contributions to the Alabama athletic program.
"You really can't put into words what Mal Moore meant to the Alabama athletics program. I mean, he saw us through a couple of down years, and it's really in large part due to him the success that we've had," said Zach Swindall, an Alabama alum.
"It's sad, you know, it's a death, you know, so it's going to be a loss for Alabama, but it's not going to change the way they play football. Alabama's a great team, they've always been great, they'll do fine," said Tyler Grasser
In response to Moore's death, Alabama Governor Robert Bentley released a statement, saying in part, "Coach Moore will be deeply missed. I've known Mal for over 30 years and have always considered him a good friend as well as a good man. He was devoted to UA Athletics, and he will also be remembered for his dedication to his family."
