State Officials Probe Grade-Changing Accusations
The Alabama State Department of Education had launched a second investigation into allegations of improper grade changing at Montgomery Public Schools. Accusations of improper grade changes first came to light in October and the Montgomery Public Schools system hired a former FBI investigator to probe the allegations. Meanwhile, the state department of education conducted a parallel investigation. Seven employees were placed on paid leave after a month of the investigation and the Montgomery Advertiser reports four were reinstated to their jobs in early February, two are still on leave and one has resigned.(Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. The state department of education says it will not release details about the investigation, its scope or time frame until it is completed.
