Tuskegee's downtown square was packed with people as community members gathered to ask for a stop to violence in their community.

The Macon County Minister's Council sponsored the "stop the violence rally."

Its purpose is to unite all the communities in the county, and speak out against crime.

A 2012 report from the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center shows Macon County has the highest number of crimes for its population in the cbs 8 and abc Montgomery viewing area.
