The Montgomery Museum of Fine Art officially breaks ground for a new project. City officials gathered this morning to announce a new three million dollar sculpture garden. This three-acre site will grow out of the Lowder Gallery and the Artworks studios on the east side of the building. This project is one of many being held in conjunction with the celebration of the Museum's 25th anniversary in the Blount Cultural Park.

The Mayor of Montgomery, Todd Starnge said this about the new project...
"This is the type of thing that really makes you an All-American city it makes you proud of the opportunity for young people in old people and in between to come and be able to enjoy and express themselves in the arts and the cultural side of the equation."

The entire project is expected to be complete in the Spring of 2016.
The Garden will initially host annual temporary exhibits of contemporary artists throughout the country.
