A third suspect has been charged in connection with Montgomery's first homicide of 2013.

The Montgomery Police Department is charging 36 year old Rickey Jerome Padgett of Andalusia with capital murder in the stabbing death of 21-year-old Danny Stroud.

Montgomery police were able to secure a warrant for Padgett. Padgett was arrested in Adalusia on an unrelated charge and is waiting to be transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility and is being held without bond.

Police responded to the 2100 block of Powell Lane around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 1 after receiving reports of a stabbing.

Stroud was transported to Baptist Medical Center South where he later was pronounced dead.

Montgomery Police arrested Amanda Stroud, 24, and Tari Snell, 19, in connection with the homicide.

Police believe the stabbing stemmed from an argument.

All three suspects are charged with Capital Murder.
