Update:Three Arrests in Drive-By Shooting of Pregnant Selma TeenFrom the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom-- Two men have been arrested for shooting a pregnant teen during a drive-by shooting and a woman has arrested for shooting back. Twenty-one year old Demetrius Reese and eighteen year old Leroy Jackson, Jr. both of Selma are both charged with first degree assault. Police say Reese shot sixteen year old Shereka Suttles during a drive-by shooting Thursday-- and Jackson was the driver. Thirty-four year old Jenorice Jones is charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle and into an occupied dwelling. Police say Jones returned fire when the two men started shooting. City officials are calling on citizens to get involved in the fight to stop the violence. "So that we may continue to identify those individuals that are involved in crime within our city and in the end we all must continue to work together so solve some of these issues within our city," said Riley. He said the shooting remains under investigation and more charges and more arrests could be on the way. |
