Troy Man Charged with Rapes Is Convicted of Another Crime

A Troy man accused of raping two women is found guilty of a previous crime.

Andre Ellis is awaiting sentencing for theft from March 2011. The arrest report states Ellis used forged paperwork to get a $12,000 loan for a car he never bought.

Ellis could face up to 20 years in prison.

Ellis will be arraigned for the rape charges on August 31. He's accused of raping two women in Hunter's Mountain Mobile Estates on March 26.  Police say the victims were a current Troy University student and a former student.
