Uniontown Sewer System Spills Contaminate Nearby Creeks

The Uniontown sewage system is apparently spilling into a second creek causing health concerns in even more counties. The Alabama Department of Public Health says sewage from the Uniontown sewage system has been overflowing into Cottonwood Creek. Investigators from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management were in town inspecting the system Wednesday. Cottonwood Creek flows into Prairie Creek-- then into the Black Warrior River.
