What's Right: Youth Baseball Teaches Life Lessons

By Glenn Halbrooks

The youth baseball and T-ball season may be winding down, but the lessons the players learn will hopefully last a lifetime.

Coaches working the games at AUM say they try to teach more than just how to swing a bat to hit a ball. They say they concentrate on sportsmanship, teamwork and respect for others.

That's just what parents hope their young players learn, even when they occasionally miss hitting the ball.

Soon, the bats, balls and gloves will be put away. But all the grownups associated with youth baseball say the lessons will stick with their children and make them winners -- not just in sports, but in life.
