From the West Alabama Newsroom--  People in Selma and Dallas County are dealing with a combination of rain, ice and snow along with frigid temperatures.

EMA Director Rhonda Abbott says all county roads have now been closed due to hazardous road conditions caused by the weather.

Abbott says a steady flow of ice, rain and snow have made roadways too dangerous to drive on. She says driving conditions will get even worse as the temperature drops.

"It is unsafe for people to travel. We do not have the resources in Dallas County to keep the roads passable as well as the bridges so we're asking all residents to please stay inside and stay off the roads," said Abbott.

County roads in Lowndes, Perry and Marengo counties have also been closed due to the weather.
