A 32-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to a murder charge in the death of her 71-year-old father.

Natasha Davenport pleaded guilty Monday to the 2011 death of her father, Jimmy Davenport of Dallas County. Davenport's body was never recovered. Circuit Judge Marvin Wiggins sentenced the woman to 25 years in prison.

Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson said Davenport gave Dallas County Sheriff's Department officials a statement saying she had caused the death of her father by hitting him with a hatchet and repeatedly stabbing him with a knife.

A man described by authorities as Davenport's boyfriend, Joseph Howell, has pleaded guilty to a charge of abuse of a corpse. He has not been sentenced.

Natasha Davenport's attorney, Heather Boone, said she felt the sentence "was fair."
