Stefanie Hicks joined CBS 8 in July 2004 and co-anchors Alabama News Network at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. She also features good things happening across the River Region in What's Right With Your Community.
Stefanie is a native of Enterprise, Alabama. She is a graduate of Troy University, and began her television career as a reporter at WTVY-TV in Dothan, Alabama. She then took over as the anchor of the morning newscast, WTVY News 4 This Morning, before coming to Montgomery.
Stefanie served as co-host of the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association Labor Day Telethon and the Children's Miracle Network Telethon for many years. In 2004, Stefanie was a top 5 finalist in QVC's "America's Host Search". She is an annual speaker at the Hugh O'Brian Youth leadership seminar, and recently volunteered in the "Mentoring Matters" year-long program at Seth Johnson Elementary School. Stefanie is involved with Emerge Montgomery as a member of the Torchbearer's Leadership Class II, was a representative at the 2011 Alabama Leadership Initiative, and has served on the Mayoral Young Professional's Council. She is also a member of Soroptomist International, one of the largest professional women's service clubs in the world
When Stefanie is not working she enjoys reading, travelling, spoiling her niece and nephews, and spending as much time as possible at a nearby lake! Stefanie is married to Jeff Sanders, the anchor of Alabama News Network at 5:00 and 5:30 p.m.
Stefanie is also the winner of an Alabama Associated Press Award for Best News Anchor.
