Montgomery Newsroom Reporter
Ashley joined Alabama News Network in October 2012 as a general assignment reporter in the Montgomery Newsroom. She is so excited to be doing what she loves and surrounded by such an inspiring news team.
Ashley has lived in Michigan, Georgia and Alabama and considers all three to be home. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a major in mass communications and a minor in communication management.
While at UAB, Ashley was very involved. She was a member of the competitive Golden Girls dance team which performed at all football and basketball home games. She also worked with the athletic department where she was involved in pre- and post-game operations for a number of sports.
Ashley interned with ABC 33/40 in Birmingham and Turner Broadcasting System in Atlanta. It was at these two internships that she really began to develop the skills needed to become a good journalist.
Ashley is a big football fan and an even bigger New Orleans Saints fan. She was a Saints cheerleader for the 2011 season when the team went undefeated at home games. She was on the sidelines when quarterback Drew Brees broke Dan Marino's single season passing record and says it was one of the best nights of her life.
Before CBS 8 News, Ashley worked at ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut, where she was a production assistant. She says of all the athletes she's come in contact with, Jerry Rice is by far her favorite.
In her free time, Ashley loves working out, reading and shopping. She also enjoys spending time with friends, attending church service and traveling.
