Valentine's Day may be the day for love, but how would you feel if you were given a free divorce for Valentine's Day?

That's exactly what one Wetumpka law firm is offering with Montgomery radio station, Y 102. Bailey and Poague law firm is offering a $750 gift certificate for an uncontested divorce over the Valentine's day weekend. They are asking people to write a short essay and send it in to the radio station, explaining why they deserve a free divorce. Attorney Brooke Poague says believe it or not, divorces are common around the holiday of love.

"Through the holidays, thanksgiving and christmas, people don't want to get divorced," Poague said on Monday. "It's a resolution. They are going to start a new year, start over, a clean slate and a lot of times unfortunately divorce is a part of that."

Poague insists the contest is not to promote divorce rather than to promote a service. Piggy-backed off this free service is free help. The Family Guidance Center of Alabama offers free marriage workshops for those who want to work it out.

The winner of the free divorce contest will be named over the air on Friday, February 12th at 5:25 p.m. on Y 102. If you want to enter, you can go to www.y102montgomery.com.
