MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — The Alabama House has voted to reprimand a lobbyist who cursed a House member who voted against a bill to allow small wineries to market their products.

The House voted Thursday to reprimand lobbyist Claire Austin for cursing Democratic Rep. Joe Hubbard of Montgomery following a April 18 meeting of the House Economic Development and Tourism Committee.

The House reprimanded Austin on an unrecorded voice vote.

The House vote came a day after a joint legislative rules committee recommended that Austin be reprimanded. She told the committee that she had apologized to Hubbard and that she respects the Legislature.

The reprimand doesn't restrict her right to lobby the Legislature

Hubbard told the committee that he did not want Austin to lose her ability to make a living.
