MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — A summary of action in the Alabama Legislature on Thursday, the 29th meeting day of the regular session:

HOUSE:

— Approved a budget for the Education Trust Fund. Changes were rejected by Senate. Goes to conference committee.

—Granted final passage to a bill eliminating duplicate campaign finance reporting requirements. Goes to governor.

—Granted final passage to a measure making it a crime to possess a cell phone with the intent to deliver it to a prison inmate. Goes to governor.

—Granted final passage to a bill for the state to reimburse counties for the expenses of running an election. Goes to governor.

—Amended and passed a bill to take Athens State University out from under the purview of the State Board of Education and set up its own board of directors. Senate concurred with amendments. Goes to governor.

—Granted final passage to a measure providing relief for joint tax filers when one of them has a liability that the other has become responsible for. Goes to governor.

—Granted final passage to a proposal that would require metal recyclers to maintain additional records, register with the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center and creates penalties for people who possess certain stolen metals. Goes to governor.

SENATE:

— Passed a $1.4 billion General Fund budget, Appears headed to conference committee.

—Gave final approval to a bill to provide tax incentives for tourist attractions that locate in the state. Goes to governor.

—Gave final approval to a bill to allow alcoholic beverage sales at state parks with a lodge. Goes to governor.

—Gave final approval to a bill to tax cigar wrappings. Goes to governor.

—Gave final approval to a bill to extend a moratorium on solid waste landfills to May 31, 2014.

COMMITTEES

—House Ways & Means Education committee carried over the charter schools bill, effectively killing it for the regular session.

AGENDA:

—Senate meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday and the House at 11 a.m.
