Ground-breaking planned for Ala. capital projectMONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Officials plan to break ground on a new housing community that they tout as part of the revitalization of Alabama's capital city. On Tuesday, Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange, city councilman Tracy Larkin and other city officials will break ground on the new complex. The community being called "The Plaza at Centennial Hill" will sit at the heart of a historical downtown neighborhood. The nearly $23 million project is being paid for by city and housing authority funds, as well as money raised from state bonds and the sale of federal low income housing tax credits. |
