MOSSES, Ala. (AP) — Mosses Mayor Walter Hill says several men intentionally burned county and city vehicles outside his home.

Witnesses say they saw a truck, an SUV, a city vehicle and a police officer's car in flames on Friday night.

Hill tells WSFA-TV (http://bit.ly/JvKpPM) that a threat was made against him and the police department for recently hiring new police officers. He said he believes the fires were a retaliation of sorts.

The mayor says state officials are investigating.
