Student dies in Special Olympics at TroyTROY, Ala. (AP) — A student died after competing in the Special Olympics in Troy this weekend. WTVY reports (http://bit.ly/LaHdrB ) that officials said 20-year-old Aaron Boyd collapsed after competing in Saturday's 100-meter track and field event. He started having seizures and was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Officials said Boyd was a student at the Helen Keller School, which is part of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind. The institute's director of the institutional advancement, Lynn Hanner, said counselors are available to help other students. |
