CLAYTON, Ala. (AP) — Barbour County authorities have charged a man with capital murder in the death of a man whose body was found along a dirt road earlier this year.

Sheriff LeRoy Upshaw said Willie James Dickerson Jr. was arrested Wednesday in the death of Willie David Pugh. Pugh was reported missing Jan. 15.

His body was found in the woods two weeks later after a massive manhunt by police. An autopsy showed he died from stab wounds and blunt force trauma.

Authorities later found Pugh's car — with his bloody clothing inside — near Dickerson's home.

Authorities say Dickerson's home was intentionally set on fire about a week before Pugh's body was found.

Dickerson is also charged with robbery and theft of property.
