$40K of equipment stolen from Ala. departmentBIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — The Alabama Department of Transportation says thieves made off with between $35,000 to $40,000 worth of equipment from a district office earlier this week. WBRC-TV in Birmingham reports (http://bit.ly/LOa9ve ) that a pickup truck, a four-wheeler with a trailer, chain saws, multiple screwdrivers and an impact torch have been reported stolen. Officials believe the equipment was taken from the Birmingham district office on the evening of May 22.
