Alberta building amphitheater from tornado scrapsALBERTA, Ala. (AP) — Volunteers in an Alabama city are building a new amphitheater from scraps salvaged among the debris left by devastating tornado last year. The Tuscaloosa News reports (http://bit.ly/N6uGKZ ) volunteers in hardhats started construction Friday at the Jaycee Park fairground. Plans call for a stage surrounded by seating for 75 people. Multi-colored shade cells supported by carved columns will cover the amphitheater. Covered picnic tables and benches will also be included. The nonprofit Pomegranate Center is responsible for the project.
