Ex- Jeffco leader Langford in prison med facility

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Former Jefferson County Commissioner Larry Langford has been transferred from the federal prison in Ashland, Ky., to a prison medical facility about 120 miles away in Lexington, Ky.

The Birmingham News http://bit.ly/L4DVvk ) reported that a spokesperson for the federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed the transfer, but the spokesperson and Langford's wife declined comment on the reason for the transfer of the 66-year-old former county leader

Langford entered prison in 2010 to serve a 15-year sentence. Langford was prosecuted on charges of taking cash and other items from an investment banker handling county bond business while Langford was on the county commission.
