Auditorium at Stillman College getting new look

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — A main building on the Stillman College campus in Tuscaloosa is undergoing a $3 million renovation this summer and fall.

The Tuscaloosa News reports (http://bit.ly/M6qZF0) that work on the Birthright Auditorium and Athletic Center is being done to repair floors, expand seating, add offices and bring the roof in line with others on campus.

Built in 1951, the facility hosts not only intercollegiate sports but also performances on its stage.

The project will add about 3,500 to 4,000 square feet to the gym, and roughly double its seating. Space for restrooms, concessions, offices and a trophy room will add about another 1,000 square feet to the building.
