MULGA, Ala. (AP) — The body of an elderly Tennessee man that has been missing for nearly a week was found in northwest Jefferson County in Alabama.

The Birmingham News (http://bit.ly/LWruPi ) reports that 75-year-old James Cuthbertson was found Friday in a wooded area off of Atwood Ferry Road near Mulga. Authorities say Cuthbertson's body was found about 100 yards from his sports utility vehicle, and about 10 feet away from the Black Warrior River.

Birmingham police detectives used cadaver dogs to help find Cuthbertson.

Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Phillip Russell says dental record comparisons confirmed the man as Cuthbertson.

Cuthbertson was last seen by family on June 22 when he left to go to the bookstore.
