Steris expanding in Montgomery, adding 80 jobs

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Montgomery surgical products manufacturer Steris is planning an $11 million expansion that will add 80 jobs.

Officials of the Mentor, Ohio-based company joined Montgomery officials on Friday to make the announcement. Construction on the expansion is supposed to start Aug. 1. The company already employs about 300 people in Montgomery.

The Montgomery Advertiser reported (http://on.mgmadv.com/MG0Vgk) that a construction agreement calls for the state, city and county governments to provide a total of $900,000 in incentives for the project.
