MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals has appointed D. Scott Mitchell as its clerk effective Aug. 1.
The court announced Friday that Mitchell is replacing Lane Mann, who retired in December after 21 years in the position.
Mitchell has been a staff attorney at the state Administrative Office of Courts since September 2011. Prior to that, he served as chief of staff for Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb for two years and was a staff attorney for the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals.
