Woman shot to death in Mobile; shots came from carMOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Police in Mobile say a 40-year-old woman was shot and fatally wounded by someone in a car. The Press Register of Mobile reports (http://bit.ly/LGdIj8) that Wendy Lee North was wounded in the chest Saturday afternoon and died later at the University of South Alabama Medical Center. They said she was shot on Racine Avenue. Authorities said multiple shots came from within a car occupied by three or four men. It may have been a Honda Civic with dark tint. Witnesses told police they saw the car speeding away from the area after the shooting. A police spokeswoman said she had no other information and would not speculate on a motive.
